2017

The Beginning

My yoga journey began in 2017, when I first stepped onto a yoga mat not knowing that this moment would completely transform my life. Like many beginners, I was seeking something – perhaps physical fitness, stress relief, or simply a new experience.

What I found was much more profound than I could have ever imagined. The practice of yoga opened doors to self-discovery, inner peace, and a deeper understanding of the connection between mind, body, and spirit.

2018

Life-Changing Moment in Mysore

In 2018, I made a decision that would forever alter the course of my life. I traveled to Mysore, India, the birthplace of Ashtanga Yoga, to complete my RYT 200 Hatha & Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training.

This experience was nothing short of transformational. Learning in the sacred land where this ancient practice originated, surrounded by dedicated practitioners from around the world, I discovered the true essence of Ashtanga Yoga.

It was here that I became a dedicated Ashtanga practitioner, understanding that yoga is not just physical exercise, but a complete way of life that encompasses discipline, devotion, and self-realization.

2018

Sharing the Gift

Inspired and deeply influenced by my teachers in Mysore, I began teaching yoga in 2018. The transition from student to teacher felt natural and necessary – I felt called to share the profound happiness and transformation I had experienced through my practice.

My teaching philosophy centers on helping people build strength not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. I believe that yoga has the power to heal, transform, and bring joy to everyone who approaches it with an open heart.

Every class I teach is an opportunity to pass on the ancient wisdom I've received, creating a space where students can discover their own inner strength and peace.

2022-Present

Continuous Learning

Since 2022, I have returned to practice with Sharath Jois at the Sharath Yoga Centre (SYC) every year. This annual pilgrimage back to the source keeps me connected to the authentic tradition of Ashtanga Yoga.

Learning directly from Sharath Jois, the grandson of the legendary Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, ensures that I maintain the purity and integrity of the practice. Each visit deepens my understanding and refines my teaching.

This commitment to continuous learning reflects my belief that as teachers, we must remain eternal students. The practice is alive and ever-evolving, and there is always more to discover.

Today

My Mission in Hong Kong

Today, I am proud to share Ashtanga Yoga with the Hong Kong community through Tapas Yoga HK, with locations in Yuen Long, Tsuen Wan, and Lai Chi Kok. My mission remains the same as when I first began teaching – to share the happiness and transformation that yoga brings.

I welcome practitioners of all levels, from complete beginners taking their first steps on the mat to advanced students deepening their practice. Everyone deserves to experience the joy, strength, and peace that yoga offers.

Through traditional Ashtanga classes, Mysore practice, workshops, and private sessions, I strive to create a supportive community where each individual can flourish on their unique yoga journey.
